How Synopses handles your data

Short, plain, and honest. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Account details: your email address, username, display name and sticker points.
Your writing: the synopses, full works, comments and stickers you post.
Moderation records: reports you file or receive, notices left for you, warnings and account status.
Basic technical records needed to run the site securely, such as sign-in sessions.

How we use it

To run the site: show your profile, keep your drafts and publish your writing.
To keep the community safe: reports, moderation actions and notices are kept so decisions can be reviewed later.
To improve the site: counts like sticker points and synopsis totals are used to rank and feature writing.

Automatic review

Every new full work and synopsis passes an automatic review against the house style before it is published. This means the text you submit is processed by an AI assistant that checks it against the house rules and writes a short brief for the moderators.
The AI assistant never makes a final decision. A human moderator reads its brief, checks the work themselves and decides what happens next.
If your writing does not pass review, it becomes a draft with notes explaining what to fix. It is never silently deleted.

What is public

Your username, display name, sticker points and everything you publish are public by design. That is the point of a community library.
Your email address is not public. It is used only for your account and for necessary service emails.
Moderator chat, reports and moderation records are visible to moderators only, not to other members.

Cookies and sign-in

We use a small amount of browser storage to keep you signed in. Without it, the sign-in would not last between visits.
If you sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices

You can change your username and display name in Settings at any time.
You can browse, read and search everything without an account.
You can ask for your account or your writing to be removed. A moderator can help with that, or you can report your own post so it reaches the desk.
You can write to us at support@synopses.one about your account or your data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the change will be noted on the page itself. Questions about your data can be raised through a report, which reaches the moderation desk with a reference number you can keep.
