Synopses community rules
Everyone agrees to these when they create an account. They are short on purpose.
Share knowledge, not advertisements
- Full works and synopses must be intended for knowledge, education, research, analysis or meaningful discussion.
- You may submit your own work, provided it is genuinely intended to share knowledge and is not primarily promotional.
- No advertising, product promotion, service promotion, affiliate marketing, sales pitches, recruitment or solicitation.
- Do not use Synopses to promote a business, product, service, course, app, website or commercial offering.
Be accurate about other people's work
- Be accurate when representing another person's work.
- Do not fabricate sources, quotes, research, statistics or findings.
- Do not deliberately misrepresent or remove essential context from a full work.
- Do not submit copyrighted material in a way that violates applicable rights.
- Users may submit Full Works only when they have the right to make them available on Synopses. Publicly accessible does not automatically mean freely redistributable.
- When you do not hold that right, add the work as an external link instead of reproducing its text.
- Do not impersonate another person or organisation.
Disagreement is welcome
- Challenge ideas, arguments, research and interpretations.
- Attack ideas, not people.
- No harassment, threats, hate-based attacks, doxxing or personal abuse.
- No spam, repetitive posts or meaningless comments.
- Keep discussions relevant to the full work or synopsis.
- Do not manipulate stickers, discussions, reports or other community features.
How the rules are kept
- Moderators may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.
- Users may appeal significant moderation decisions.
- Synopses is a place to understand ideas — not a place to tell others what they must believe.
Reporting something
Every full work, synopsis and comment carries a report link. A report gets a reference number you can keep. Synopses AI Moderator reads it first and writes a short brief; a human moderator makes the decision and can overrule the AI at any point. Nothing is ever decided by the AI alone.
